Marie Sexton (nee Mary Hall) was born in Cascapedia, Qc. on May 13, 1924. She
passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Centre Renaissance in
Gatineau, Qc.

A consummate mother and caregiver, Marie devoted her life to the service of
others. Her immediate and extended family and friends were very fortunate to
have her in their lives.

Marie had an unwavering faith in God. The tragedies in her life may have shaped
her, but she didn’t let those define her. She could have lived in grief and
despair, but instead she continued to care for and bring joy to others throughout
her life. She was an exemplary pillar of strength and courage for her children as
she very quietly nurtured everyone she loved.

Marie is survived by her children Nancy (Chris), Wayne (Claire), Jane (Dave),
Karen, and Joyel (George), her 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is
also survived by her brothers Arvil (Opal), Richard (Dorothy), Raynold, and Irby
(Gayle). Marie was predeceased by her husbands, Alex Nellis and Norman Sexton,
by her brothers William (Billy), Vincent and Everett and by her sisters and best
friends Lillian, Alice, and Lorraine.

Celebrations with her family brought immense joy to Marie throughout her life,
the last being her 95th birthday party one week before her death.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31, from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Henri
Thibodeau Funeral Home in New Richmond. A funeral service celebrating her life
will be held on Saturday, June 1 at 1:00 pm at St. Jules Parish for one final get
together in her honour.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental
Health Association or the Breast Cancer Society of Canada or the charity of your
choice.

Mom really appreciated her weekly phone conversations she had with her when she lived in Montreal. It's comforting to know she died peacefully. Love from your Aunt Laura's family
