In memory of
Cora White
September 01, 1929 – November 28, 2023 - 94 years old
It is with sadness that the family of Cora White announces her passing on November 28, 2023 at the Regional Hospital in Campbellton, New Brunswick. She was born on September 1, 1929 in McDonalds Corners, Ontario, the only child of the late Cora Campbell and John White. She is predeceased by William (Bill) Garrett (her husband of 40 years) as well as Ron Champagne (son-in-law) and Violet Harrison (daughter-in-law).

Cora is survived by her husband Leslie Coull who she married in 2003.
She is fondly remembered by her children: Shirley (Peter), Sandy, Rick, Budd (Diane) and Mark.
Nanny was a very proud grandmother to Linda (Tim), Sandy (Marcel ) and Donna McCulloch; Dan (Isabelle) and Amanda Champagne; Larissa (Nigel), Billy and Haley Garrett; Richard, Lacey (Andy) and Robyn (Jordan) Garrett and her great-grandchildren - Jack, Peter, Hunter, Ava, Zach, Katherine, Josie, Embree, Everleigh, Murphy, Cooper, Scarlett and Julia.
She also leaves behind members of the Garrett and Coull families and many friends who have enriched her life.

Our mother will be remembered for her affection for animals - especially her childhood horse Fanny and a multitude of stray cats and dogs which she lovingly adopted. A few of her many interests – genealogy; writing poetry “William’s Fishing Boat”; Black Cape correspondent for the Gaspe SPEC ; membership in the UCW and Women’s Institute; love of country music and dancing; knitting and a volunteer at the New Richmond Boutique. Her favorite invention was the telephone which allowed her to stay connected with family and friends. Despite the years and distance, Mom never lost her attachment to her childhood home and friends in Lanark County.

An opportunity to celebrate the life of Cora White will take place in the spring / summer of 2024. Details will follow.
For those who wish, a memorial donation may be made to the Linda LeMore-Brown Foundation. By mail the address is
168 Gerard D Levesque, New Carlisle, G0C-1Z0. Telephone number is 418-752-5995.

Message from Reta Dixon April 14, 2024

Cora and my mom, Reta Dixon nee Harris were first cousins. Cora's dad, John and my grandmother, Hazel, were siblings. Cora and mom were in frequent contact by phone and, whenever Cora was in the Perth area, she and Leslie would always stop in to visit or stay overnight at my parents' place. Cora was a lovely woman, so full of life. My mother would appreciate information concerning the memorial this spring/summer. Grateful if it could be sent to me care of the referenced email address.

Sachez que dans le deuil vous n'êtes pas seuls puisque vous pouvez compter sur notre sincère amitié.

Veuillez accepter nos plus sincères condoléances.

Message from Trudy December 05, 2023

Cora was a wonderful, one of a kind person. I always loved talking to her, our calls were never shorter than an hour long. She never had to say how much she loved me, I knew it immediately. I'll never think of my adolescence without thinking of Cora...I'm sure she's been met on the other side by my folks and is having quite the chat with loved ones. Rest, Cora. You are missed already.
