Blake Sinclair, age 84, died peacefully on April 21, 2025 from complications of Lung Cancer.
Blake grew up in Cullen's Brook and lived in New Carlisle for most of his life. He began working in the woods as a teenage boy to help support his family and carried that strong work ethic with him for the rest of his life. In addition to working in New Richmond at Smurfit-Stone (Consolidated Bathurst) linerboard mill for 35+ years as a heavy machine operator; he also built up his own cattle farm, which kept him busy long after retiring.
His legacy of being hard-working, honest, loyal and loving, will not be soon forgotten. Blake faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage, and could never sit idle if something needed to be done. Without hesitation, he was there to lend a helping hand and never asked for anything in return. He
had a great sense of humour and was especially quick to throw out a witty remark that would have the whole room in stitches.
Blake was the loving husband to Starr for 58 years. He was a proud father to Michael (Linda), Suzanne (Andreas) and Danny, and was devoted to his four grandsons Blake, Lukas, Markus and Ben. Blake will also be missed by his brother Dean (Evelyn) and sister Nellie. He was predeceased by brothers Wayne (Lynn), Larry (Darlene) and sister Sharon.
The family is sincerely grateful for all the support that Blake received from the doctors and nurses at Rimouski Hospital, Maria Hospital and the local CLSC.
If friends and family would like to honour Blake, please make a donation to Lung Cancer Canada in lieu of flowers.
Professional services have been entrusted to the Henri Thibodeau Funeral Home Inc., a subsidiary of the HG Division network certified Distinction by the Corporation des Thanatologues du Qeébec and by the bureau de Normalisation du Québec.
The management and staff of HG Division offer their deepest condolences to the family and thank them for their trust.
