At HG Division, as a family funeral business, we are committed to offering a service marked by respect, dignity, and discretion.
These fundamental values guide each of our actions and are at the heart of our motivation to support families in the most difficult times.
Respect is the cornerstone of our approach. We treat each family with the utmost consideration, honoring their wishes and traditions. We understand that each grief is unique and strive to create an environment where each individual feels heard and supported.
Dignity is at the center of our mission. We firmly believe that every person deserves to be treated with honor and respect, both in life and in passing. Our commitment is to ensure that each service rendered is a dignified celebration of the deceased's life, reflecting their value and impact on their loved ones.
Discretion is essential in our profession. We understand the deeply personal and private nature of grief and are committed to protecting the confidentiality and privacy of each family we serve. We work with delicate attention and particular sensitivity to ensure that each family can grieve in peace.
Providing support and comfort to families in mourning is our greatest source of motivation. As a family business, we know how important it is to feel that you are not alone in these trying times. We are here for you, to help you honor your loved ones with respect, dignity, and discretion. Our commitment is to offer you a humane and caring service, in line with our values, and to accompany you with compassion and professionalism throughout this difficult journey.
We listen to families and want to reassure them in these difficult times. Our history shows that we have the quality of service at heart and we believe in the strength of traditions while remaining open to innovation.
Maison funéraire Harris Gleeton inc. is founded by Mr. Harris Gleeton in Gaspé, with the desire to offer professional, humane, and accessible funeral services to families in the MRC of La Côte-de-Gaspé region.
Mr. Harris Gleeton partners with Mrs. Doris Langlois and becomes a shareholder of Henri Thibodeau Funeral Homes in New-Richmond. A natural and beneficial alliance for both companies, which share common values.
Driven by a unifying vision, Mr. Harris Gleeton becomes the owner of Valère Fortin Funeral Homes Inc. in Gaspé, which belonged to an American organization (SCI). The large HG Division family continues to grow, always with the aim of offering local services to the people of the region.
The ambition of the Gleeton family is halted for a moment by the tragic death of Mike Gleeton, at the age of 19 years and 7 months, in a car accident. The family takes a moment to pause, reflect, and endure this painful ordeal.
Mr. Harris Gleeton and his son Dan acquire J.F. Fortin Funeral Home in Chandler. A great opportunity for the family business to extend its expertise and personalized approach to the local community.
Bissonnette & Brothers Funeral Homes in Rimouski also join the large HG Division family, bringing their experience and know-how to the network.
Harris and Dan Gleeton establish a brand new branch, named Centre funéraire Simplicité: a unique place intended for clients who wish to pay a simple yet inspired final tribute, reflecting the deceased.
Funérarium JB in Rimouski joins HG Division to optimize the funeral offer to the people of the region.
HG Division acquired Henri Thibodeau Funeral Home, marking a key milestone in the company's history.
Founded in 1977 by Mr. Henri Thibodeau, this funeral home had been jointly managed (shareholders) by Mrs. Doris Langlois and Mr. Harris Gleeton since 1996.
Mrs. Langlois, who became the sole shareholder in 2010, ensured the continuity and smooth operation of the business. In 2018, this acquisition also allowed HG Division to obtain a second crematory, thus enhancing its capacity to better serve families.
In the same year, HG Division expanded its footprint by acquiring Réjean Bélanger Funeral Home, firmly established in the Paspébiac community and surrounding areas for several decades. These acquisitions consolidated HG Division's presence in the region, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to the families it serves.
HG Division expanded its range of services by acquiring Gaspé Florist.
This strategic move allows HG Division to offer families a complementary service directly related to its offerings, facilitating the organization of funerals and commemorations. Thanks to this acquisition, families can now benefit from a quality flower service, integrated into our support framework, to honor their loved ones in a personalized and respectful manner.
HG Division expanded its presence in Gaspésie by acquiring J. Edgar Lebreux Funeral Home in Grande-Rivière.
This family business, firmly established in the region for several decades, joins the HG Division family.
This acquisition strengthens our commitment to offering quality services to the families of Grande-Rivière and surrounding areas, while respecting the heritage and values of this well-established community business.
HG Division made significant investments in renovating two of its funeral centers, the Valère Fortin branch in Gaspé and the Bissonnette Funeral Center branch in Rimouski, to transform them into multifunctional funeral complexes. These investments are part of a strategic approach, in line with new trends in the funeral industry, aimed at offering more comprehensive and personalized services to families.
Thanks to these renovations, the HG Division network now has 5 chapels and 5 reception rooms equipped with lounge areas. This expansion allows for a wide range of needs to be accommodated, offering welcoming and adapted environments for customized commemorations.
With more than 100 full-time and part-time employees, HG Division is present in more than 30 towns and villages in Gaspésie and Bas-St-Laurent. More than ever, HG Division remains true to the values that have contributed to its solid reputation: respect, dignity, and discretion. Looking to the future, the family business shows great openness to continuously adapt to the needs, beliefs, and wishes of the people here, who have trusted it for all these years.
